Walleye Cheeks (Manitoba Pickerel)

Walleye (Manitoba Pickerel) cheeks, sometimes referred to as freshwater scallops are considered a delicacy to many in Manitoba. They are tiny succulent pieces of fish which are melt in our mouth! Kids love these because there are absolutely no bones.
 
Try pan frying or poaching them in garlic butter. Wrap them bacon and serve with seafood sauce for some phenomenal finger food at your next cocktail party. Over the years we’ve enjoyed adding them to seafood pastas and soups as a light and delicious source of protein and essential fatty acids.
